Rockford Dr, Solon Roof Replacement

Full Roof Replacement

Owens Corning Duration Shingles - Brownwood

The Problem

On April 15, 2026, a severe hailstorm tore through Solon, Ohio causing widespread damage to homes throughout the area. This homeowner’s roof took a direct hit, resulting in significant hail damage across the entire surface. The property’s four skylights also sustained damage during the storm — the existing flashing had been compromised and could not be reused per manufacturer guidelines. Without proper skylight flashing, even a brand new roof can develop leaks around penetrations, making this a critical part of the overall scope.

The Scope & Materials

Python Roofing worked directly with the homeowner’s insurance carrier to document the hail damage and secure approval for a full tear-off and replacement. All four skylights were carefully re-flashed with new step flashing kits to ensure a watertight seal at each penetration. The new roofing system featured RhinoRoof granulated ice & water shield installed at all eaves, valleys, and penetrations, paired with RhinoRoof U20 synthetic underlayment across the entire deck. Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles in Brownwood were installed per manufacturer specifications, giving the home a rich, warm aesthetic that enhances its curb appeal. Python Roofing managed the entire insurance process from initial inspection through final approval, making the experience as seamless as possible for the homeowner.
